Hi! My name is Wambui Munene (she/her) and I was born and raised in a small but quaint suburban town in the North Bay called Novato, CA. This past May I graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. I am currently a post-undergraduate pre-med student at Stanford Medicine on my way towards a career in Pediatrics. As a result of growing up with a sibling who has ASD, I am specifically passionate about providing children who identify with developmental disability backgrounds with appropriate, accessible, and affordable clinical care. In high school and college I volunteered in various care-giving programs for intellectually and developmentally disabled youth that focused on improving motor and communication skills. Through joining Allies for Allies I hope to become a supportive resource in a world that doesn’t seem to provide enough for this community.
